In 1996, Setanta launched an US division with help from Bar/None. After Casanova and A Short Album About Love being redistributed across the ocean, the label closed down.
However, by the label Red Ink, a branch of Sony Music, a new edition of Casanova was specially released in 1997, as well as A Secret History in 1999.
In 2001, beside their contract with Parlophone, The Divine Comedy signed with the Canadian indie label Nettwerk. They were in charge of the distribution and promotion in the US (only) of Regeneration and Absent Friends. Discs are distributed in Canada through EMI Music Canada.
In late 2006, BMG Music Publishing released in the United States a compilation of 19 tracks by The Divine Comedy, featuring 3 instrumentals.
