In March 2000, Neil Hannon was honoured to write the sleeve notes for the HDCD reissue of Scott Walker’s compilation Boy Child: The Best Of 67 - 70. The album was a re-issue of a 1990 CD and LP compilation which originally included liner notes by Marc Almond.
Released at the same time of other 24-bits remastered HDCD of Scott’s first solo albums, this edition aims to focus entirely on Scott Walker’s songwriting. Hence, while the original 1990 CD release included a Scott Walker rarities, a cover Hassein and Shapper’s ‘The Rope and The Colt’, the new release included instead another Scott Walker song ‘Angels of Ashes’.
