The Duckworth Lewis Method Demos

Recorded: 2008

Thomas Walsh stated in an interview that The Duckworth Lewis Method begun with him and Neil Hannon recording three or four demo songs [1]. They actually said it was just for a laugh the songs were recorded, but then after playing the demo to a few people they decided to record them properly, and continue the writing and later came up with the album. [2] It is likely so they sent the original demo to record companies and media such as Hot Press. However, while Neil and Thomas used to say the adventure begun with putting some songs on the Internet and they decided to go into the studio thanks to a buzz [3], the earliest tracks they put online – in early 2009 on MySpace – where the final studio recordings (despite further sessions were still to come), not the original demo.

Some of these tracks were subsequently released as iTunes-only bonus of the album.
