A Visual Record is a short film directed by Bryan Mills about the recording of the album Regeneration. During the recording sessions many moments were filmed, but the film also features moments outside the studio, like an acoustic rendition of ‘Eye Of The Needle’ at Neil’s place.

The complete movie is 21 minutes long, and has been screened at least one time, at the Opening Gala for press and industry delegates of the Edinburgh Film Festival in 2001. Neil Hannon also did a short set on this occasion.

It’s only a 11 minutes edit which is available on the CD-ROM extra of the RE:Regeneration and French deluxe edition. However, the French label’s website did put online the complete movie later in the year.

At the time of recording, the band also published on their website a few cuts of their sessions. None of them made it to the short film though. These videos were: Neil playing the guitar (30 secs), Pinkie playing the organ (30 secs), Rob playing drums and percussions (30 secs), Joby playing the piano (30 secs), ‘Joby’ 1:49) featuring a piano rendition of ‘Bad Ambassador’, ‘Studio Life’ (1:52), and ‘You’ (making of the song) (1:57).
