Informations

Neil Hannon wrote this song for his niece, Rosie. It sounds as if it is based on a real promise he made her, to send her a postcard from every place he would go when on tour (or at least I suppose he talks of places he would go on tour, not on holidays). But unfortunately, I don’t think Neil has actually been in all the cities and countries named (it is though likely he sent a postcard from Paris and from Liverpool). The cities and countries are listed according to their initial. In the last verse, “you” can refer both to Rosie and to us.
