Informations

A very rare song at gigs. We only know of two gigs where it was played: in 1994 at the Passage du Nord-Ouest in Paris and in 2002 in Dublin. It was planned to be played at T on the Fringe in Edinburgh, but it eventually wasn't played.

The song is a sort of short intro to the album. It brings us into a parallel world, that of The Divine Comedy, just as Mr Benn is brought into a specific world after trying on a costume. Indeed the song is a reference to a famous children's British TV series of the 1970s. The hero, Mr Benn, would visit a costume shop which would by magic take him into the corresponding period or place. Mr Benn's address is actually based on that of his creator: 52 Festing Road, Putney.
