Dear Father, it's wonderful now.
Spring is making its triumphant entrance.
I want to jump for joy
But in my state that's impossible.
I've opened all the windows and life pours in -
What sweet irony.

Dear Father, it's wonderful now.
Spring is making its triumphant entrance.
I'm wearing the white outfit that Lou gave me.
If I put on my hat
I'd look like someone out of a Chekhov play.
Ha!

Dear Father, it's wonderful now.
Spring is making its triumphant entrance.
Now and again the young Weimaraner from next door
Pays me a visit.
He stands in the doorway of the garden
And stares at me with his aquamarine eyes.

Dear Father, it's wonderful now.
Spring is making its triumphant entrance.
He sits himself down and carries on staring at me.
He's telling me about his world
And off he trots.
I'm really contented!

Your son.
